Driven by an unbridled love for music and a desire to honor the collector’s culture, we decided to establish our own label in Switzerland. The inspiration for the name Doc Gator Records came from an alligator in Florida, symbolizing the wild Power and Bite of the music we love. But don’t be fooled: We are not „business alligators“ merely seeking profit. We are first and foremost passionate fans. We are a small, yet powerful team of three music enthusiasts who are convinced that true Heavy Music must be physical, limited, and absolutely premium quality.

Our focus is on the medium that holds the highest value in the Metal and Rock genres: vinyl. Operating from our Basel-Land location in Switzerland, we guarantee the highest production quality for our carefully curated releases and reissues. We cover the entire spectrum, from classic Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, and Thrash Metal, to the darker realms of Black and Death Metal. Our catalog is defined by a clear collector strategy:

• Limited Variety: We offer strictly limited editions, often presented on exclusive, colored vinyl in multiple collector variants.
• Cultural Heritage: We secure and remaster older, historically significant albums (such as the works of Picture or Hollow) and make them accessible again in pristine quality.

The Heart of the Label: The Legend of Against Evil and „Project Curry“

What truly sets Doc Gator Records apart is our commitment to making our artists‘ dreams come true. The story of the Indian Heavy Metal band Against Evil is our best example of this.

After we licensed their album All Hail The King for the European market and released it on limited vinyl, the idea arose within the Metal community to bring the band to Germany for an extensive European tour. The label immediately became part of this movement. Through the legendary „Project Curry“ fundraising campaign, which involved the auctioning of countless records and memorabilia, the community – logistically supported by DGR – managed to realize the utopian idea. Against Evil completed a 8-week tour with concerts across four countries. This proves: We are the bridge that paves the way to the global stage for talents like Wreck-Defy (praised by experts as a „savage barrage of thrash“) and Akroasis or Quasarborn. Our motivation stems not from the business world, but from the Metal heart.
